Bruins get a much needed 3-1 win in Florida

On the brink of a 3 game losing steak and already down a goal, the Boston Bruins rallied back with 3 goals in a row to make their record an even 2-0 against the Florida Panthers this season. With the Montreal Canadiens continuing to play well and the Boston Bruins suffering a tough overtime loss to the Kings on Saturday and an even tougher loss to the Lightning on Monday, the B's needed a win. Down 1-0 heading into the 3rd, the Bruins needed one man to step up, they got two. Brad Marchand hustled and was able to slip a goal in the net in the first minute of the 3rd period which seemed to awaken the sleeping Bruins and tie the game up. After that, Sir Recchi took over. Marc Recchi not only scored the 2 goals to give the Bruins the lead and the much needed cushion, but also surpassed a milestone to the delight of all his teammates. With his second goal of the night, Recchi became the 13th player all time with 1500 points recorded in their career. The 42 year old Recchi is 1 of 11 players to have played in the NHL in four decades. The Boston Bruins still trail the Montreal Canadiens for the division lead but now face the Carolina Hurricanes at home in TD Garden in less then 36 hours. Come see all the action live and in person. Does alcohol help you blog

** Warning: I do not promote underage drinking, its illegal so don't do it! I am assuming that anyone who wants to have an alcoholic beverage after reading this is of the legal age to do so" **

As my 12 hour work day winds down and I sit here staring at my wall I'm at a loss for words what I can possibly blog about. Perhaps its the fact that I slept 4 hours last night, or perhaps its the 80 hour work week finally catching up to me. As great as this seasons Bruins & Celtics run is and as awaited as this Sundays Patriots vs Colts match up is I am just simply burnt out on sports for the week. While debating which sports team to devote Friday nights blog to I came to another debate which in return solved my blogging woes.
Friday nights are usually a time to unwind from the week of stress. People choose to unwind in different ways, my choice has always been alcohol. Not obsessive amounts like some peoples college days but just a drink or two to simply relax and enjoy the night. As I hastily uncorked the oldest bottle of pinot and reached for the glass, it suddenly hit me I have a blog due. Boston fans are a fun bunch, especially when their teams are winning and boy are we winning. The Bruins are only 2 points away from the Division lead, The Celtics have the best record in the Eastern Conference and even the Patriots are tied for first place with the Jets in their division. So there was my conundrum, do I drink or do I write? I chose both, but in a sophisticated mature way, I chose to write about drinking.
With a full glass in my hand, and very little desire to research scores, standings or .. well .. facts, I decided to write about the pros and cons of drinking and blogging. Lets start with the pros. For years I have heard AND seen that alcohol tends to loosen people up. It inhibits most peoples "reserved" demeanor and tends to bring them out of their turtle like shell. When it comes to writing that seems like a huge pro to me. Who wants to read a boring unenthusiastic statistic filled blog on a Friday night? Especially since most people in Boston will get a chance to read that type of writing in the Boston Globe's sports section tomorrow morning. People want to be entertained, and as I stare at my now empty glass of wine I realize I am up to the task.
Back with another full glass I'm ready for more pros. Since my alcohol of choice is wine, the next pro is an easy one. Research over the years has indicated that moderate intake of alcohol improves cardiovascular health, and we all know how important a healthy heart is. The healthier I am, the longer I will live which in exchange equal more time to blogging. Man if I keep this up I might not ever blog sober again. As I sip my 2nd glass another thing comes to mind. Alcohol is a stimulant, blogging is a task for my "profession". Professionals have been using so called stimulants for ages to increase performance. Look at steroids in Baseball, Human Growth Hormone in Football, Viagra in pornography and the list goes on. Professionals always seem to perform better with the use of "performance enhancing" stimulants. I see no difference between me using a "stimulant" to increase performance & Barry Bonds using a "stimulant" to break the home run record.
Finishing my second glass I have come to realize that as strong as the pros are the one con far outweighs all the pros. I am now officially sleepy. Maybe red wine was not the best choice for this experiment especially when the previous night consisted of 4 hours of sleep. Blogging is all about entertaining and being entertained. I have certainly entertained myself writing this, I sure hope I have entertained the person reading this.

The New Re-Launch of www.AdmitOneBoston.com

Well folks it has been almost 6 months in the making but our brand new redesigned site is finally launched. www.AdmitOneBoston.com is Brand spanking new with all the gadgets & gizmos you would expect from a new(er) model of the same product, right Apple? We now have a live Facebook feed in the bottom left of our page to let you keep up with what the fans in Boston are saying about our teams. Speaking of fans opinions, we have also included a hefty link on the top left corner of the site which you should definitely take advantage of as we have almost 2000 real Boston sports fans sharing their opinions, the good the bad and well the ugly we try to clean up before we ReTweet lol.
What you will also notice once you start surfing the site is we really do have tickets to every event nationwide. As hard as it is to imagine you can get tickets that range from sitting Front Row Center Ice to a Boston Bruins game to sitting in the Pit of the Orchestra for your favorite Broadway play. Not only is every venue all around the country open to you, once you click into the event you will notice a handy virtual seating chart on your right. This chart is brand new software which we have never used before on any of our previous sites but our customers are already raving about it. All you have to do is hover your mouse over any of the selected seat you want and the exact section of where the seats are will light up on the map. How cool is that!
The map also allows you to specifically chose where you want to sit. Want to sit in Field Box 25 on the Red Sox Dugout? Simple enough, bring your mouse over to that section and left click. Boom all the seats available for that game in that section are now at the top of your inventory search.
This project has been 6 months in the works and we have gone to great lengths to ensure our customers have a simple yet comfortable buying experience from our agency. Oh and since we are all about our customers, we do not charge ANY additional service charges over the cost of the tickets other then shipping. The power of a win vs the strength of a loss

Most people have heard that old cliche "When purchasing a car make sure to go on a rainy day towards the end of the month". Over the years people have realized car dealers have certain monthly quotas they need to hit and with new inventory coming in on the 1st it only makes sense to go at the end of the month. Not to many people like driving in bad conditions so once again it makes sense to be the only customer in that dealership if you want the best deal since the dealer "needs you more then you need them". When thinking about it almost seems common sense, you want to "buy when the demand is low and when the dealer NEEDS to make the sale."
Well folks the same is true when it comes to seeing your favorite sports team play, yet for some reason most people still fail to understand this. Fans seem to forget while the "asking price" is set by the ticket agency the actual "selling price" is set by the consumer. Just like the worst thing to do when purchasing a convertible is to wait until mid June on a 85 degree clear and sunny day, the biggest mistake you can make in purchasing tickets to your favorite team is waiting until they are the hottest team in the league.
Tickets for the Boston Bruins have been increasing in price every week. The hotter the team gets, the more likely they are to have a chance of "winning it all" the more in demand the tickets are and the less inventory any given broker would have. Its amazing how many people decided to purchase Bruins tickets after the B's blew out the Penguins 7-5 in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night. Our agency literally sold 20 times the amount of seats the day after that win then ANY other day. What kind of "deal" do you think you can get on tickets when all you're getting is a busy signal trying to call us.
Ironically the same exact thing happened with the Celtics today and now after the Miami win tonight will obviously happen tomorrow. When there's a huge "rivalry" match up that night, all the local tv stations and sports talk radio stations hype up the event like there's no tomorrow. You would think tonight's Celtics vs Miami game was game 7 of the NBA Finals the way these guys talk. Can you imagine how many people all of a sudden will realize tomorrow morning "Hey the Celtics are a lot of fun to watch, lets go" If following us on twitter or facebook has shown you anything, its that more people flood our pages during a winning streak or a huge match up then at any other time. So if you're taking the time to read this and do decide to purchase tickets from us online at www.AdmitOneBoston.com please do so AFTER a loss. Even better wait till 2 or 3 losses in a row, then just like a rainy day at the end of the month, call our office and get the "best" deal.

I like being right " Article from HitFlix.com about GARBAGE World Series Ratings"

TV Ratings: World Series clincher can't top ABC's 'Dancing' on Monday

Fast National ratings for Monday, November 1, 2010.

The San Francisco Giants defeated the Texas Rangers on Monday night, winning the World Series 4-games-to-1. The clincher delivered the same lackluster ratings as the rest of the series, getting crushed by ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" and much of CBS' comedy block.

Among adults 18-49, ABC and CBS both averaged a 3.6 rating, with FOX's 3.3 rating close behind in the key demographic. NBC was a distant fourth with a 2.0 rating, topping the 1.0 rating for The CW.

Overall, it was an easy win for ABC, which averaged 17.02 million viewers and a 10.8 rating/17 share. FOX's 6.8/10 and 11.39 million viewers finished second, just ahead of the 6.5/10 and 10.59 million viewers for CBS. NBC was far back in fourth with a 3.4/5 and 5.4 million viewers. The CW trailed with a 1.4/2 and 2.017 million viewers.

8 p.m. -- ABC began the night in first with 18.9 million viewers and a 3.8 demo rating for "Dancing with the Stars." FOX's World Series coverage averaged 11.31 million viewers and a 3.1 demo rating in second overall, but third in the key demo. It was an "up" week for CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" and "Rule of Engagement," which averaged 8.92 million viewers and a 3.6 demo rating. NBC's "Chuck" also had small improvements for the night, drawing 5.46 million viewers and a 2.0 demo rating. The CW's "90210" averaged 2.055 million viewers for fifth, its most watched episode of the season.

9 p.m. -- "Dancing with the Stars" improved to 20.37 million viewers and a 4.1 demo rating for ABC in the 9 p.m. hour. Any worries that Charlie Sheen's recent difficulties would impact his comedy's ratings were silly, as CBS's "Two and a  Half Men" (13.62 million and a 4.7 demo) and "Mike & Molly" (10.89 million and a 3.6 demo) combined to finish second for the hour overall and tie for the hourly demo win. FOX's baseball was third with 11.9 million viewers and a 3.4 demo rating. NBC's "Women of 'Saturday Night Live'" special averaged 5.19 million viewers in fourth. "Gossip Girl" gave The CW 1.98 million viewers in fifth.

10 p.m. -- The back and forth battle between ABC and CBS in the 10 p.m. hour continued. This week. "Castle" won overall with 11.8 million viewers, but finished second with a 2.8 demo rating. CBS' "Hawaii Five-0" was second overall with 10.59 million viewers, but won the demo with a 3.0 rating. NBC's "SNL" special was third with 5.56 million viewers and a 2.1 demo rating.

All ratings information comes from preliminary Fast National Nielsen data, which includes live and same-day DVR viewing. All numbers are subject to change, particularly in the case of live events.
