Is the Stanley Cup hangover for real?

While most fans kept their fingers crossed about the Bruins this season not falling into the Stanley Cup hangover trap, the reality is that no team has won back to back championships in 13 years. The Detroit Red Wings, who seem to be the powerhouse the past two decades in the NHL were the last one to accomplish it. The 2010 Bruins came strong out of the gate putting up a 6-2 record in the first 8 games. The 2011 Bruins... well.. they are 3-5 in the first 8 games. True Nathan Horton was a scoring beast in the early stages of last season, but one can't help wonder if the 200% win differential is simply due to the fact that the Stanley Cup champions have a much shorter off season. Less time for body's to heal, less time to simply have your mind away from the sport.
The demand for tickets this season has surpassed any season in the past 20 years. The Boston fan base is finally all about the Bruins. Lets hope the team turns it around, fast! If you haven't been to a game yet its something you just have to see LIVE. Tickets are still available for every home game by clicking here Purchase Boston Bruins Tickets Here

Boston wins the "Best place to live as a sportsfan" award!

As 2010 comes to a close and we open a new chapter, it never hurts to look back at the year before looking towards the future. While it would take me hours to go over the details of every accomplishment by the 2010 Boston teams, let us quickly glance over them one by one.

The Boston Celtics managed to get themselves into a 7 game NBA finals series vs the LA Lakers in June of 2010 and by Dec 31st had the best record in the NBA heading towards the 2011 NBA playoffs. The Boston Bruins suffered a crushing blow after leading the 2nd round playoff series 3 games to 0 over the Philadelphia Flyers and were handed an early exit card by losing 4 straight games. While most sports fans would ignore the team the following season the Bruins fans were counting the minutes until puck drop of opening day as a fresh faced youngster by the name of Tyler Seguin was in the starting lineup, courtesy of the Toronto Maple Leafs 1st round "Draft Pick". Thank you very much Phil Kessel.
The Boston Red Sox were out played by their Division rivals New York Yankees & Tampa Bay Rays who both stole the last 2 playoff spots of the 2010 season. Instead of crying over spilled milk, the Boston Red Sox front office went out and acquired the 2 biggest names in the free agent market during the off season. With the addition of Carl Crawford  & Adrian Gonzales Red Sox fans are once again counting down the days until spring training.
Not to be out done, the New England Patriots go out and have themselves a 14-2 season, set every record that they had not yet set the past decade, and become the odds on favorites BY FAR to win the Superbowl.
I would say with the 2010 accomplishments of the Boston Sports Teams and the standing on January 3rd of 2011, Boston wins my award of the Best Place To Live As A Sports Fan!
